I am a proud product of Aurora City Schools, attending from kindergarten through graduation. When it came time to raise my own family, I moved back because I wanted my boys to have the same incredible education I did—and they have. Jackson graduated in 2024, and Liam is now a freshman.

But now, the schools that have given so much to my family need our help. That’s why I’m joining the Citizens Committee for Quality Schools in asking you to vote YES on Issue 4 this November.

For me, this is personal. Please help to make sure the Aurora schools we’re so proud of remain strong for generations to come.

Aurora Schools are not excellent by accident. The district has achieved its perennial success through not just commitment to high standards, but dedication to preparing young adults for the road of life. And they have done all this with unwavering adherence to fiscal responsibility as evident by their own public performance in the metrics that matter. One thing we can all agree on is the need to support our local community and that means supporting our youth and their education. ACSD has proven they can be trusted with our tax dollars time and again, and I fully support and endorse Issue 4 to replace Craddock, repair needed critical infrastructure and protect the legacy that our excellent district has built.

I have lived in Aurora for over 30 years, and during that time, I have had the privilege of watching our community grow and progress. My three children all graduated from Aurora City Schools, and I am so grateful for the outstanding education and opportunities they received.

Because I have seen firsthand the impact our schools have on our children and our community, I strongly support this levy. I support it for the benefit of all the children in Aurora. Investing in our schools is an investment in the future of our children, our families, and our entire community.

I am endorsing Issue 4, the Aurora School levy. Aurora Schools have molded three generations of my family into productive citizens. My parents graduated from Aurora in 1965 from the building that is now Craddock elementary. I went to elementary school there in 1976. My children went to school there is 2004-2008. I have been a teacher at Aurora High School since 1992 and an Aurora resident for 45 of my 58 years.

Increased safety updates and learning spaces for the young people in our community will continue to keep Aurora Schools as one of the top school systems in Ohio. The new building could be another space for community events and use by youth sports. The benefits to our personal property values and the benefit to our community are also great reasons to vote YES on Issue 4.

The current state of Craddock and parts of other buildings are unsafe and need to be replaced/repaired.

Moving to Aurora in 1967 I personally attended Craddock and Aurora High School graduating in 1976. It’s hard to believe the small classroom sizes in Craddock are helping with learning today.

This plan is solid and requires our attention. Please look at the monthly cost to your personal budget. Is it not affordable for you to eat out one less time a month?

Let’s not bury our heads in the sand and hope this issue goes away on its own, vote Yes on Issue 4!

The community is growing; we need space in the schools for our students to grow; many of the buildings need updated; Miller has limited space; craddock’s gym ceiling leaks; the students have to walk outside during the school day for library and Music at miller; the pick up line and traffic flow could be better; the bus garage needs fixed. With all of these things happening simultaneously, it makes sense to update. We love our schools and community. My daughter just read stone soup. This book talks about how things become possible when everyone pitches in. This is something our Aurora community is great at doing.

Having attended Craddock Elementary myself, I hold a deep personal appreciation for the foundation it provided, but portions of the building are now over a century old and face more than $21 million in critical infrastructure needs. Voting yes allows our community to replace this aging facility with a modern, safe elementary school designed to meet the educational standards of today's students and repair other aging infrastructure. Ultimately, strong, modern schools protect home values for all residents while keeping Aurora an attractive, vibrant community for businesses and families alike.
